December 13, 2005 Suncity Records
Suncity Records are happy to bring you the second edition of the long time archived unreleased Blue Tears
material. All tracks have been fully digitally re-mastered, and they have turned out sounding extremely
good for 8-track demos. A few of these tracks may be familiar to the die-hard Blue Tears fans, as a
bunch of them have either been recorded by other bands or used on some of Gregg's other projects.
Once again, we are very happy with the way these demos have been packaged and presented and think that the
album has great balance to it. The opening track, entitled "Summer Girl", is in our minds the perfect
opener for this record, having that real late 80's summer-time feel to it, and is a song that most of you
folks wouldn't have heard before.
Some of the other tracks that you may or may not be familiar with are "Loud Guitars, Fast Cars and Wild, Wild
Women", which was a track that Gregg Fulkerson and Mike Spears wrote in about ten minutes. Originally
written as a joke, they then realized it was kind of good in a corny sort of way. Their management gave
it to the 80's hard rock super group Contraband, featuring Michael Schenker alongside Tracii Guns.
Contraband released it as their first single, went all out and had a big budget video made, and got some nice
airplay on MTV. (Arr, those were the days!!) The song ended up doing very well for Gregg and
Mike; this was their chance to do the Motley Crue thing, and they had a blast doing it, as well. As
Gregg jokingly mentioned, though, "There will only be only Motley Crue, and we sure weren't it... ha ha!!"
"Forever Yours" was a song for the second Blue Tears album that never materialized, so Gregg and Michael decided to
re-record it on Michael Sweet's first solo album, recorded in 1994. They thought it would suit Michael's
voice very well. I suppose it is up to you, the listener, as to which version you like better. One
of Gregg's favorite songs he has written is the mid-paced, pop rocker "Slip and Fall", another track
intended for the second record that was picked up by fellow MCA Records bandmates, late 80's and early 90's
hard rock band Every Mother's Nightmare. It was once again used for the first single off their 1993
release, Wake Up Screaming.
Two more that Gregg re-did for his most recent band, Attraction 65, were "Storm in My Heart" and "Strong",
because, quite simply, they were two of the best songs he claims he had ever written. These are the
original versions that were also shelved. "Storm in My Heart" was written at the saddest time of
Gregg's life about the saddest event possible. A song about dealing with a great loss, the emotion
can be heard in his voice. The other track, "Strong", is believed by many to be the best and
strongest ballad Gregg has ever written. He himself describes it as just the truest love song he has
done, and that every word is 100% true.
"A Date with Destiny" was written for Meat Loaf, as he and Blue Tears had the same manager at the time, but
it ended up not getting used. So here it is in all of its Meat Loaf-style glory.
"Small Town Dreams" is one of the first songs Gregg ever wrote about his home town of Henderson,
Tennessee. You will hear the difference in the production values, as it was written and recorded
around the same time as "Follow Your Heart", a track featured on the first batch of unreleaed works
entitled Mad, Bad & Dangerous.
To close the album out, we have the epic power ballad, "Dream of Me", which is a great way to conclude
this 2-CD marathon. Gregg and the boys thank you from the bottom of their hearts for paying your hard
earned money. It means a lot.
Blue Tears are delighted the fans have stuck with them for over 15 years. Now you have the
opportunity to hear all these tracks the way they were intended to sound, except for the production, of
course.
It's been a long journey for the band, one that they have much enjoyed and will never forget. Blue
Tears has had the time of their lives and associated with some of the biggest names in rock 'n' roll.
This is one chapter in the life of Blue Tears that has come to an end, but with all the interest in the
band, another chapter will soon open. They believe the material that they are currently
writing and recording is the strongest stuff they have done to date, so keep posted, and thanks for
listening.

Gregg's Notes:
We wrote this one hoping L.A. Guns would cut it. They didn't, but Contraband did as "Loud Guitars,
Fast Cars & Wild, Wild Livin'." Still had Tracii Guns playing on it, so we weren't far off. It
was also for our second record.

Gregg's Notes:
I originally wrote this one for Meat Loaf. I was managed by Left Bank Management, who also managed Meat
Loaf when he was working on Bat Out Of Hell II. I am a huge fan of his and Jim Steinman's, and my
manager knew this. My manager asked me to write a song for him. I spent several months working on
that and was told it was on the record at one point.  Then at the last minute, I was told that Mr.
Steinman didn't go for it. He wrote all the songs, and to be honest, I completely respected that.
I love his writing. Who am I to nudge into his action, anyway? I mean that in the most respectful
way possible. Bat Out of Hell was a huge influence on me. I still have that CD in my
car. I wrote "A Date With Destiny" thinking the whole time, "I can't believe this could be on Bat
Out of Hell II." A dream come true, but it wasnt' meant to be. He didn't need it. He had
a great record without it.
